Purpose of the Job
As a Product Insights Analyst, you will enable data-informed product management by ensuring our products and capabilities are measurable by design and that Product teams have the insights needed to make confident decisions.
Working closely with Product Managers, Engineering and the Data team, you will define product data, analytics and reporting requirements and analyse product, customer and commercial performance to identify opportunities across our ecosystem.
You will combine analytical rigour with commercial awareness to identify where improvements to customer journeys, product experiences and feature visibility can increase engagement, conversion, revenue and customer value. While not owning the P&L, you will play a critical role in helping Product understand the commercial impact of product decisions and recommend opportunities to optimise business performance.
You will own the Product Analytics Requirements for significant product initiatives, ensuring success measures, tracking requirements and reporting needs are defined as part of the Product Requirements Document (PRD) and delivered alongside the product itself.
Acting as the bridge between Product and Data, you will help ensure analytics capabilities evolve alongside our products, enabling Product teams to continuously improve customer experiences and commercial performance through reliable, actionable insight.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Product Managers during discovery to define product success measures, KPIs and measurement frameworks for new products, capabilities and enhancements.
Own the Product Analytics Requirements within Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), including success metrics, event tracking, reporting requirements and post-launch measures of success.
Define clear product requirements for Engineering and Data teams.
Work closely with Engineering and Data teams to ensure tracking, telemetry, event capture and data models are implemented accurately and consistently.
Validate analytics implementations prior to release, ensuring product instrumentation meets agreed requirements.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that provide visibility of product health, customer behaviour, feature adoption, operational performance and business outcomes.
Monitor the product and commercial performance of products and capabilities, identifying trends, opportunities and risks across customer adoption, conversion, utilisation, customer engagement and revenue generation.
Analyse how changes to customer journeys, feature placement, merchandising, notifications, recommendations and personalisation influence customer behaviour and commercial outcomes, providing recommendations to optimise performance.
Work collaboratively with Product, Commercial, Marketing and Partnerships teams to identify opportunities to improve product performance, customer engagement and commercial value through data-led insights.
Analyse customer journeys, feature usage, conversion funnels and product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
Produce actionable product and commercial insights that influence roadmap prioritisation, product strategy, customer experience improvements and investment decisions.
Support product discovery by analysing customer behaviour, identifying opportunities and helping quantify potential customer and commercial value.
Measure and evaluate the success of new product launches against agreed success metrics and business objectives, ensuring learnings are fed back into future roadmap decisions.
Work with Product Managers to establish product baselines and track progress against OKRs, strategic objectives and commercial outcomes.
Champion best practice in product analytics, experimentation and evidence-based decision making across the Product organisation.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Data teams to continuously improve product data quality, governance and consistency.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Experience in Product Analytics, Product Insights, Digital Analytics, Product Management or a similar analytical role within a technology or digital product organisation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
Demonstrable commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret product performance through both customer and commercial lenses and identify opportunities to improve business outcomes.
Experience defining product KPIs, success metrics and analytics requirements for digital products.
Experience writing requirements for product analytics, event tracking, instrumentation and reporting.
Strong understanding of customer behaviour analysis, product performance measurement, product lifecycle metrics and digital commerce.
Experience analysing digital product performance using metrics such as conversion, engagement, adoption, retention, utilisation and revenue.
Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineering teams and Data specialists within Agile delivery environments.
Strong SQL skills and experience using business intelligence and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
Experience using digital product analytics platforms such as GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo or similar is highly desirable.
Familiarity with experimentation methodologies including A/B testing, hypothesis-driven product development and statistical analysis would be advantageous.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A naturally curious mindset, with a passion for understanding customer behaviour and uncovering opportunities to improve products and commercial performance.
Experience working in evolving environments and using initiative to create clarity, influence decisions and drive progress.
