Purpose of the job
As Senior Product Manager – Payments, you will define and execute the product strategy for key elements of our customer payment experience, driving business goals such as conversion, revenue growth, and customer engagement. This role focuses on both consumer and B2B payments, with an emphasis on seamless, secure, and scalable payment solutions across digital and physical touchpoints.
You will own and optimize Collinson’s internal payment systems while managing key external partnerships with PSPs, Acquirers, payment orchestration, fraud prevention, and observability providers. In addition, you will oversee payment risk and fraud management, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing payment security.
Leading a high-performing product team, you will drive innovation, alignment with market needs, and seamless execution, leveraging data-driven decision-making, agile methodologies, and deep payments expertise to create exceptional payment experiences for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Payments Strategy & Execution
• Define and execute a comprehensive payments strategy, balancing consumer experience, revenue optimization, and compliance.
• Own and manage Collinson’s internal payment infrastructure, ensuring seamless transaction processing.
• Oversee Consumer and B2B payment experiences, with a focus on digital wallets, mobile payments, BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later), and subscription-based recurring payments.
• Develop and optimize omnichannel payment solutions, including POS, in-app, and web transactions.
• Stay up-to-date with payment industry advancements and trends, identifying opportunities to improve payments experiences.
• Lead cross-functional payments team to ensure successful realisation of payments strategy.
Partnerships & Integrations
• Lead sourcing and management of external partnerships with payment service providers (PSPs), acquiring banks, card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and alternative payment method (APM) providers.
• Collaborate with orchestration platforms to streamline global payment routing, retries, and conversion optimization.
• Integrate with fraud prevention providers, implementing real-time risk assessment and fraud mitigation tools.
• Work with observability partners to ensure real-time monitoring, reporting, and payment analytics for proactive issue resolution.
Payment Risk & Fraud Management
• Oversee payment security, fraud prevention, and risk mitigation strategies across all payment channels.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, PSD2, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), AML, and cross-border payment regulations.
• Optimize authorization rates while reducing fraud, chargebacks, and transaction failures.
Analytics & Optimization
• Utilize payment data and insights to optimize transaction success rates and reduce costs.
• Develop A/B testing frameworks for payment flows, improving conversion rates and user experience.
• Stay ahead of emerging payment trends, fintech innovations, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
Extensive experience in global payments, fintech, or financial services, with a strong focus on consumer payments and B2B transactions.
• Proven track record of building and scaling successful consumer-facing digital products.
• Expertise in payment orchestration, PSPs, acquiring/issuing, card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and alternative payment methods (APMs).
• Strong knowledge of subscription billing, recurring payments, tokenization, and chargeback reduction.
• Deep understanding of fraud prevention, risk management, and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, PSD2, AML, SCA, cross-border transactions).
• Experience in POS systems, omnichannel payments, digital wallets, BNPL, and mobile payment solutions.
• Strong expertise in agile methodologies, OKRs, rapid prototyping, and data-driven decision-making.
• Skilled in API-based payment integrations with third-party providers, payment gateways, and fraud prevention platforms.
• Ability to own and drive product roadmaps while aligning with business priorities and market opportunities.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical mindset, with experience in data analysis, market research, and business case development.
• Skilled in mentoring and leading product teams to deliver high-impact results.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization abilities.
