What does a Head of Commercial Finance do:
The purpose of this senior commercial finance role is to provide strategic financial leadership across complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation. As a key advisor to executive leadership, the role translates high-level business objectives into actionable financial strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and delivering timely insights to support critical initiatives such as acquisition integration, investment evaluation, and Capex planning. With a growing footprint in Latin America—including established operations in Peru and Brazil and planned expansion into additional markets—the position plays a pivotal role in supporting regional growth and transformation. Combining deep commercial finance expertise with hands-on execution, advanced analytical capabilities, and a strong continuous improvement mindset, the ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, engages confidently with senior stakeholders across global time zones, and operates fluently in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. This role is both strategic and operational, serving as a catalyst for financial innovation and business impact across a multinational organization.
What You'll will Do:
· Lead high-impact, complex, cross-functional initiatives that align with strategic business goals, translating executive direction into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
· Drive strategic decision-making by applying expert-level knowledge and judgment to resolve complex, multi-dimensional challenges with long-term implications.
· Exercise broad autonomy in setting objectives and determining innovative approaches to critical assignments, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
· Influence stakeholders including joint venture partners, operating partners and clients to gain support for comprehensive business strategies to achieve organizational goals.
· Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with internal and external customers, championing quality and service excellence in line with company standards.
· Serve as a recognized subject matter expert, providing authoritative guidance on policies, programs, and long-term strategic goals across the organization.
· Mentor and engage cross-disciplinary teams, fostering professional growth and encouraging innovative thinking to solve strategic and complex problems.
· Apply deep and broad expertise across technical, industry, and functional domains, serving as a primary source of knowledge and insight to deliver innovative solutions
· Provide strategic and operational support to the VP of Latin America through accurate recommendations and decisions supported by financial analysis and coordination of regional initiatives to drive business performance and alignment to achieve key organizational objectives.
· Partner with the business to identify and complete special projects, such as acquisition integration, identifying business risks, and ad hoc financial analysis
· Provide strategic input on commercial and financial terms in contracts and leases, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk mitigation, and long-term financial sustainability while optimizing for the most advantageous tax structure through expert analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
· Lead the coordination and development of the annual budgeting process and recurring financial forecasts for the region, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
· Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial insights, regional budgets, and performance against financial targets to drive strategic decision-making and operational alignment
What You'll Need:
· Minimum 10 years in a finance leadership role working in a large multinational organization with Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field, a Master’s degree in Finance or an MBA is preferred.
· Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with a proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
· Deep understanding of commercial finance within the Latin American market, including regulatory environments, economic trends, and business practices across diverse countries in the region.
· Demonstrated understanding of Brazil and Peru accounting standards and tax compliance frameworks, with particular emphasis on Brazil’s evolving multi-level tax system (IRPJ, CSLL, ICMS, ISS) and familiarity with the planned tax reform. Also well-versed in Peru’s IFRS-based financial reporting, corporate tax obligations, and SUNAT regulatory requirements as they will impact financial results of the region.
· Demonstrated ability to evaluate and structure commercial agreements and investment opportunities, ensuring financial viability and alignment with long-term business goals.
· Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing day-to-day finance operations while fostering professional development and cross-functional collaboration.
· Strategic mindset with a track record of developing and implementing long-term financial plans, driving
profitability, growth, and operational efficiency across business units.
· Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of building trust with executive leadership and persuading external stakeholders to support complex financial initiatives. Written and oral fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese desired.
· Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to conceptualize innovative financial models and resolve multi-dimensional business challenges.
· Demonstrates agility and resilience in fast-paced, dynamic environments—able to prioritize competing demands, manage ambiguity, and deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
· Leads with a continuous improvement mindset, consistently challenging the status quo by asking “why” and “is there a better way,” while driving strategic change across commercial finance functions.
· Operates with both strategic oversight and hands-on execution, confidently engaging with senior stakeholders across global time zones and diving into detailed financial analysis, including leading regional Capex planning and evaluation.
· Ability to travel nationally and internationally 20%.
