Commercial Market Director- NORDICS

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Market Director to lead our market strategy, accelerate growth, and strengthen our presence across key sectors including financial services and travel.
This is a senior leadership role for a dynamic and inspiring commercial leader who thrives in a matrixed global organisation and has a proven track record of delivering sustainable growth, profitability, and strategic impact.
The Opportunity
As Commercial Market Director, you will be accountable for the commercial performance of the market, providing critical insight and perspective that shapes both regional and global strategy.
You will represent the organisation externally, strengthening our reputation and presence across industry forums, associations, and strategic networks. Internally, you will lead market strategy execution, drive business development, and align local priorities with global objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to influence at the highest level while building and leading high-performing commercial teams.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Strategic Leadership
Define, refine and execute the market strategy
Identify new growth opportunities and expand market footprint
Monitor competitive landscape and adapt strategy accordingly
Contribute market insight to global planning and decision-making
Commercial Growth & Business Development
Support and drive market-level revenue and growth targets
Lead consultative, solutions-based commercial initiatives
Contribute to regional and global pitches
Land major clients and strategic partnerships
Market Propositions & Innovation
Identify evolving consumer and client needs
Partner with Product and Technology teams to shape tailored solutions
Support successful go-to-market launches of new products and services
Strategic Relationship Management
Build and cultivate senior-level relationships with key stakeholders
Strengthen partnerships across financial services and travel sectors
Represent the organisation in industry forums and networks
Account & Client Leadership
Grow and retain key client accounts
Lead market account teams and drive strategic account planning
Ensure best practice account management and delivery excellence
Team Leadership & Culture
Inspire, develop and lead high-performing commercial teams
Drive alignment with global initiatives in a matrixed environment
Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management
Champion clear communication and strong internal engagement
What We’re Looking For
10+ years’ experience in a senior commercial leadership role (Managing Director, Country Lead or equivalent)
Proven success delivering commercial growth and profitability
Deep understanding of the local consumer and commercial environment
Strong network within financial services and/or travel or Loyalty sectors.
Experience operating within a complex global matrix organisation
Demonstrable track record of landing major clients and leading strategic projects
Key Competencies
Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
Commercially astute and growth-focused
Strong relationship builder with executive presence
Clear, persuasive communicator (verbal and written)
Inspiring people leader with the ability to drive performance and cultural alignment
