Purpose of the role 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing Analyst to join our Central Underwriting team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analysing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the development and implementation of underwriting strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and data analysis techniques.

You will bring technical depth to our Central Underwriting team, which is responsible for Underwriting Governance and our Reinsurance Programmes, across all Lines of Business. The Pricing Analyst will be the go-to person for pricing-, risk-, and financial analysis, portfolio monitoring across all insurance lines of business, guiding on reinsurance, performance and pricing related matters, and responsible for pricing peer reviews.

Key Responsibilities

Central Underwriting

• Support the Central Underwriting team with pricing and underwriting reviews across all Lines of Business
• Standardize Pricing & Profit Measurement methodologies and models.
• Continuously improving our Underwriting/Pricing processes and ensuring complete documentation.
• Support key processes related to our reinsurance arrangements, e.g., the preparation of renewal packs and claims notifications for our non-proportional reinsurance covers and preparation or review of reserving, forecast, technical statements, and other reports for our proportional reinsurers.

Malta office support

• Assist the General Manager with operational matters.
• Assist in the production of committee and Board materials.
• Support team members as required, e.g., onboarding of new products/distributors.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Applicants must have previous Underwriting, Pricing, or Business Analysis experience, ideally within a B2B Insurance focused enterprise.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Relevant accounting or insurance qualification (e.g. ACCA, CII), or academic records.
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to data analysis
• Fluent in English – additional European language(s) preferred, e.g., Spanish, Italian.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivator with a willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to show initiative and to work independently
• Ability to network and maintain relationships across multiple groups
• Personable and effective communicator to build partnerships with the stakeholders
• Willingness to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities
• Strong sense of integrity
