Purpose of the job
We are on a look out for a billing accountant to come and join our team on a 6-12 months fixed term contract. Our Finance team is growing and it's a really exciting time to join the team. We are looking for bright, motivated people who have a passion for making a difference.
The Billing Accountant/Analyst will support all areas of finance operations. The role involves managing the billing process, overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate reporting. The Billing Analysts are tasked with handling all aspects of billing procedures in a company. This role will analyse and evaluate billing trends and work to identify billing inconsistencies and inefficiencies. This role requires a combination of financial acumen, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the accounts payables, accounts receivable and reconciliations teams.
- Analyse complex billing system data.
- Providing support at bottleneck moments in the monthly and annual accounting cycles.
- Ensuring the accuracy of billing data and correcting any errors.
- Resolving billing issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Creating billing reports to present to management
- Maintaining up-to-date records of all billing activities
- Reviewing the company’s billing practices to identify areas for improvement
- Being an escalation point for both AR and AP queries.
- Looking at the root cause of queries and reviewing current processes to prevent them.
- Assisting with onboarding new processes or managing change to existing processes.
- Assisting in the implementation of new billing systems and processes
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Proven Experience as a Billing Analyst/Accountant or similar role
- Strong knowledge of billing procedures, legislation, and regulations
- Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to work to strict deadlines and able to take initiative and follow through
- Experience with billing software and databases
- Strong affinity for numbers and attention to detail
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible approach and ability to effect change and solve problems
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in SAP or similar billing and accounting systems. Would be great if have exposure to Miscrosoft Dynamics
