Purpose of the Job
Collinson require a dedicated resource to develop and manage markets to recruit, manage and maximize the merchandising opportunities for the SmartEarn platform, aligned to clearly articulated value propositions based on client opportunities and communication strategies. The role will work closely with key e-commerce retailers in each core market and ensure the ongoing merchant strategy execution across UK & IE. This strategy will be developed and agreed with both the Retail Partnerships Director and the relevant client teams, based on local market insight and recommendations made by this role.
A strategic and proactive e-commerce operator with the ability to be both merchant and client facing to a senior level is needed to represent the product proposition in UK & IE. The role will also be expected to perform general content management tasks and ensure brand alignment and sign off within campaign timelines, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines across parties.
The role suits an ambitious person, with the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with the existing Retailer Partnerships team to align global product strategy and provide support for an increasing client base in UK and IE. Experience of working directly within affiliate / performance marketing channels is essential, with demonstratable examples of managing and executing campaigns at merchant, network or affiliate roles previously.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading all conversations with our Tier 1 Retailers in UK & IE
- Leading the Retailer Partneships team on the delivery of all merchant and client led campaigns
- Team leader for our key clients in the UK & IE
- Lead the sourcing and negotiating of commercial packages with UK & IE retailers to align with agreed calendar ensuring campaigns are developed to meet objectives and provide maximum value for money
- Supporting Retail Partnerships Director with planning
- Develop and build client relationships with relevant teams to provide market insight, performance analysis and recommendations for future activity
- Responsible for the development and delivery of our strategic plan to engage retailers in UK & IE, optimising a mix of retailers to deliver against the strategic and commercials requirements of our client programmes and campaigns
- Executing and support with planning of retail & client campaign calendars – using your knowledge and experience along performance data, retailer insights, seasonality
- Acquiring and maintaining a network of ecommerce retailers for UK & IE markets via local affiliate networks and some direct partnerships
- Work with the wider Retail Partnerships team to manage retailers and ensure objectives and calendars are aligned and content is delivered to the highest standard possible
- Managing/Supporting retailer content, including sourcing imagery and copy from retailers, editing where necessary and managing merchant approvals
- Manage/Support promotional content and setting up campaigns using product CMS / Admin tools to agreed campaign timings (non-technical)
- Producing regular performance reports and case studies for senior managers, clients and retailers with clear insight and recommendations for future optimisation
- Supporting operational and support enquiries directly or via clients through to the global operational team, ensuring key issues are identified, prioritised and escalated where necessary
- Play a key role in supporting overall global merchant development approach, inputting to team and ensuring alignment with local market conditions and opportunities
- When required deputise for other parts of the Retail Partners team support retailers requirements and deliver client campaigns
- Identify and support opportunities for Card Linked partnerships through Retailer and Network relationships to assist in the continued expansion of this channel and proposition
Key skills and experience to be evidenced within your application included;
- Experience of working with retailers within an affiliate marketing model
- Experience of working with financial reporting processes including invoicing / IO’s
- Demonstrable client facing experience essential
- Commercially oriented with the ability to identify growth opportunities
- Ability to showcase experience of content management and campaign creation
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and a customer orientated approach are very important
- Technically literate, although deep technical expertise not required
